Claims Referrrals
You may be considering using a claims referral company to deal with your claim. It is important that you understand how these work.
The company will sell your case to a solicitor. The going rate is in the region of £750, although we have found some also charging up to 10% of the fees the solicitor charges.
Some referrers will also charge the client, either by selling them legal expenses insurance or providing a "loan" to finance the claim. If you are not careful you will end up paying for this out of your damages.
Most referrers then stipulate who the solicitor can obtain a medical report from, take out legal expenses insurance for the client with, arrange credit hire facilities for the client with and may even stipulate agencies who will be sent round to your house to get you to sign up to all of this. They "say" they seek to control this on the basis of quality control, but the reality is that money is probably changing hands in the background.
On most claims the costs are fixed. The only way the solicitor can afford to buy cases like this is by cutting corners somewhere, and quality is an easy corner to cut.
We do not buy in cases. We believe the quality of our service speaks for itself.
