Every relationship breakdown is different. Sometimes the breakdown is calm with both parties being honest and straightforward and wanting a fair outcome. Such a breakdown often only needs help with the formalities.

Further down the scale you have awkward parties who lash out at everyone around them whether this is deserved or not and not caring about the effect this has on other people including the children, the wider family and the once shared network of friends and neighbours. In these cases it is best to get your evidence together quickly and comprehensively and then go to Court.

Just as every client is different so are we.  Unlike any other Law Firm, we qualified as barristers first meaning our focus is on evidence gathering followed by negotiation and if necessary Court.  We seek to achieve resolution of matters by meaningful discussion, prompt resolution, mediation or Court. This gives a different focus to our practice compared to a lot of other family lawyers.  You are right to expect high levels of technical skill from any lawyer, but it is our attitude and focus that distinguishes us from others.

Our position with opponents is one of firm fairness. We pride and treasure our reputation as shrewd, but straight opponents.

If you tell us there are hidden assets, a party is working "cash in hand" or there are secret accounts we have numerous methods of uncovering this. Our background as Trial lawyers means we know a fair outcome relies on proper evidence.  Where a party is found to be lying on one fact the Court looks at all of their evidence very closely, and when in doubt tends to find against that person.
